3 quarts half and half
6 cups sugar
juice of 12 lemons
6 tsp. lemon rind
Combine all ingredients and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Freeze according to your ice cream freezer's directions.
Mini-version-makes about 1 quart of ice cream
3 cups half and half
1 1/2 cups sugar
juice of 2 3/4 lemons
1 1/2 tsp lemon rind
When grating lemon rind be sure not to get all the way down to the white.
